Columnar basalt was one of the rock formations my grandfather taught me about as we travelled the country, explaining how the columns formed as the lava cooled. Â The pattern of the hat and the scarf refers to the columnar basalt in different heights and proportions.
This pattern is designed for einrúm E+2 yarn or E+4 yarn in three sizes (hat). The hat is worked in the round and the scarf is worked flat.Â
The foldout pattern includes instructions in English, Icelandic and Danish. Â We love the built in needle gauge!
