It’s not too late to join this amazing KAL! Although the Zoom sessions have already happened, you’ll get access to all the pattern, the links and video recordings!
This is your perfect way to learn how to knit entrelac, and end up with a stunning, modern, customizable entrelac top/sweater in the process!
Of course, we’re there to guide you all the way: all the technique, tips, colour advice and camaraderie you’ve come to expect from our fabulous KALs! And this one is especially fabulous, because Di will be joining our Zoom sessions too!
(Zoom recordings will be sent in case you can’t make it, or want to view later).Your KAL Coupon is 100% redeemable against your yarn purchase!
Level of difficulty and skills required
Intermediate. Our KAL is guided, which means we will be showing technique, with tips and advice as we go, as well as the pattern, but you should be confident with basic knit and purl stitches, and casting on.We’ll tackle:
• entrelac building blocks
• how to customise your sweater
• knitting backwards!!Tribe KALs are all about community, yarns friendships, support and laughs. We keep doing them because they are so much fun! Try to keep your Friday evenings free during the KAL so you can get the most out of the KAL. Whilst there is a good amount of technique discussed during the sessions, the idea is more of a “knit-along” as opposed to workshops. It’s more of a social thing 😁!

Recommended Yarns (feel free to mix and match between yarns too!)
Cashmere Ombe 2ply by artyarns
For the cashmere version shown in the photos (oranges), I used one skein of Cashmere Ombre 2ply. I highly HIGHLY recommend this yarn. It’s the perfect opportunity to use it here and it is the best drape and dyeing for this pattern.
My 1 skein sleeveless sweater measures a generous 54″ ( 137cm) round the chest (pre-blocking!). 20″ (50cm) length from shoulder to hem.
If you prefer a narrower, longer sweater, you can get approx 36″ chest x 28″ length sweater from one skein.
Note – if you’d like to add sleeves and/or ribbing, you’ll need more yarn…
Alternative yarns
Here are some great alternatives if you don’t want to use the cashmere:
Double Mohair Ombre by artyarns (two skeins for a boxy, wide sweater)
Mini Ombre Merino Cloud Fade Set by artyarns (this yarn is thin for a 5mm needle, so the fabric will be very open… But it’s super lovely to have the options to play with the colour transitions in this set.)
Gradient by Schoppel – approx 3 balls for a sleeveless version. 100% Merino, partially felted. Very cool!
Noro Kureyon – a very traditional choice for entrelac knitting, but you will need to change to a bigger needle, and make some pattern modifications for this yarn because it’s much thicker.
More suggestions in the email you’ll receive upon sign up!
Sizes
You’ll be able to modify your garment in a number of ways to get the fit you want – we will show you how!The amount of yarn you’ll need will depend on how wide / long you want your sweater. Also, whether you want sleeves, and ribbing on hems…
As a guide, this is how far 670m of cashmere goes:
My 1 skein sleeveless sweater measures a generous 54″ ( 137cm) round the chest (pre-blocking!). 20″ (50cm) length from shoulder to hem.
If you prefer a narrower, longer sweater, you can get approx 36″ chest x 28″ length sweater from one skein. -
